The Welland Valley bellringing team held their annual summer outing on 20 June 2026.
Organised by Shane Ward (Wilbarston), members of the team travelled to the Loughborough area to ring at five churches.
They started off with two 8-bell rings, at
- St Andrew’s (Prestwold)
- Holy Trinity (Barrow upon Soar)
Then, after a break for lunch at the aptly named ‘Ring o’ Bells’ in Loughborough, the team completed three 6-bell rings, at:
- St Paul’s (Woodhouse Eaves)
- St Leonard’s (Swithland)
- All Saints (Newtown Linford, pictured above).
A date is already in the diary for the team’s 2027 outing – Saturday 26 June 2027.
We had a most enjoyable day out. The bells at Woodhouse Eaves are only rung for weddings and by visiting bands, and the clapper in the treble bell refused to move to start with, but the team eventually got It going! We’d like to thank everyone at these beautiful churches for allowing us to come in and ring their bells.
