The Welland Valley Team joined other ringers from the Kettering Branch of the Peterborough Diocesan Guild of Church Bellringers for a visit to ring at two Leicester churches, and the magnificent Leicester Cathedral.
This trip was organised by Christian Harford (Ashley and Stoke Albany), who unfortunately was unable to join us on the day.
In the morning, the team did two 8 bell rings – at St Peter’s Church in Oadby and St Andrew’s Church in Aylestone.
Then, after lunch, it was time for the team to visit Leicester Cathedral and make the rather precarious walk up and across the roof to the bell tower. This was the first 12 bell ring for some of our team. An amazing experience!
